This week, Year 9 students took part in the Honeywell Challenge, finding new ways to use artificial intelligence and big data to help people make better decisions. They then had to present their ideas to their classmates and a representative from Honeywell.

They were challenged to think about who the clients are; a manufacturing business, a service provider, a government department, an educational organisation, a hospital, social services, the police, armed forces, etc and about how an AI solution benefit the client.

They had to expand on the multiple benefits and describe where the data for AI will come from and how the solution will be designed to interact with the client.

From each class, one group was chosen to present their ideas to Honeywell, with ideas ranging from solutions for cleaning the ocean and AI Accountancy. It was the group from Oak who were named the winners, with their idea for AI aided Air Traffic Control.
