Author William Hussey visits Colyton Grammar School

On Tuesday 23rd April, we were fortunate enough to have award-winning author William Hussey visit the school. William held an interactive ‘Witchfinder Experience’ for Year 7, in which students were involved in recreating a 17th Century Witch Trial (well done to Emma K, Rafe R and Josh W for playing their roles excellently!). This was both an informative and entertaining session. Following this, Year 8 were treated to a ‘Gothic Masterclass’ in which William talked about the history of the Gothic, before students took part in a Dracula vs Van Helsing quiz. In both sessions, William also talked about his inspiration for writing and read extracts from his work which saw all students rapt and on the edge of their seats. William also signed books and chatted to students in the library at lunchtime. We’d like to say a huge thank you to William for a thoroughly enjoyable and inspiring visit.
